Reykjavik, Hot springs, Iceland's waterfalls, Super jeep Adventure

Adventure and Sports Cultural City Tour

Because of its isolated location, Iceland is a place frequently forgotten about: on the edge of the Arctic Circle and sitting atop one of the world’s most volcanically active hot spots, Iceland is a place where nature reigns supreme. Despite of its cosmopolitan and modern capital, the interior of the country remains unmarked by humanity: glaciers, magnificent falls, bubbling hot springs and fjords. Take a break in Iceland and discover its wild and unique beauty!

Day 1 - Arrival

- Arrival at Keflavík Airport. You will be met by your ITS guide and transferred to your hotel in Reykjavik.
- If time we’ll take a city sightseeing in Reykjavik.

Day 2 - geothermal & Gullfoss Waterfall

- Visit the Hellisheidi geothermal power station.
- Head to the famous geothermal area of Geysir where the Strokkur hot spring ejects its water column high into the air and where numerous small springs are boiling and bubbling. Visit also the Geysir Geological Centre.
- Reach the spectacular Gullfoss waterfall and then reach Reykholt where we will visit one of Iceland’s many greenhouses.

Day 3 - Iceland's South Shore

- Head towards Iceland’s South Shore. We will stop at the Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, special not only for its beauty but also because it is possible to walk on a path behind it.
- Stop at Skogar village, where we will have a look at the Skogar Waterfall, one of the highest in Iceland, and visit the Skogar Folk Museum.
- Glacier walking: this will take us a couple of hours up on to the Myrdals Jokull glacier (equipment & instruction from qualified experts provided).
- Then reach Reynisfjara beach, a beautiful black sand beach with basalt columns of all sizes and shapes.
- We’ll drive to Vík village located in an idyllic setting famous for the Reynisdrangar pillars that rise from the sea.

Day 4 - Super Jeeps adventure

- Special super jeeps will pick us up and we will head for the glacier Valley of Thorsmörk, a beautiful rugged and uninhabited area, nestled between three glaciers. To reach Thorsmörk we will have to drive on a rough track and cross rivers that have no bridges so this will be a great adventure!
- On the way into the valley, we will stop at a small glacier lagoon and have picnic lunch at the remote hut Básar.
- Enjoy the rest of the day exploring these adventurous surroundings. Thorsmörk is an ideal place for short hikes with views of glaciers and woodlands.

Day 5 - Reykjanes peninsula

- Transfer to the Reykjanes Peninsula, one of the earth’s great geological wonders; the area where the tectonic plates of Eurasia and North America split. We’ll be able to walk along “the bridge between two continents”.
- We’ll continue to the Reykjanestá where there is a large bird cliff and a picturesque lighthouse.
- We will follow the coast, across a vast volcanic plateau to the bustling fishing village of Grindavik. From there, we drive to the Krysuvik Hot Spring Area where you can see impressive solfatares.
- The drive to Reykjavik takes us across lava fields that form a lunar like landscape.
- Visit the Blue Lagoon and take a relaxing bath in geothermal water in this surreal environment. The Blue Lagoon’s warm water and natural active ingredients; mineral salts, silica and blue green algae help you relax.
