Community Projects Cultural City Tour


Laos is a country untouched by the modern demand and stress. its beauty lies in the Lao people, peace of life, untouched landscape and century-old traditions and heritage.
For such a small country, Laos is surprisingly diverse. Colorfully dressed hill tribes populate the higher elevations, while in the lowland river valleys, coconut palms sway over the Buddhist monasteries. Laos truly offers a perfect scenery for the travelers.

Day 1 - Arrival

- Arrive at Luang Prabang Airport and transfer to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time we will have a bicycle tour of old Luang Prabang.
- There is also a market where stalls sell an assortment of gifts, clothing and many items that make suitable souvenirs.
- Visit Wat Xieng Thong, or Temple of the Golden City, one of the most important monasteries in Laos.
- Then, visit the Royal Palace Museum. The Crown Prince Savang Vatthana and his family were the last to occupy the grounds. In 1975, the monarchy was overthrown by the communists and the Royal Family was taken to reeducation camps.
- Dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 2 - Jungle trek & Pak Ou Caves

- Jungle trek on elephants in Luang Prabang.
- Return to the hotel to check out and take the boat to Pak Ou Caves on the west side of the Mekong River and known for their miniature Buddha sculptures.
- We will explore the fantastic limestone caves and visit a local village.
- Overnight and dinner at the Lodge.

Day 3 - CAS project

- Transfer by coach to Phonsavan, which name stands for ‘hills of paradise’.
- Check into your hotel and have lunch.
- We will go to the local orphanage to meet and interact with the children.
- Dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 4 - CAS project

- Whole day at the orphanage with the children and lunch on site. Today the students will have a great opportunity to give some time to the children, and take part in a variety of activities throughout the day.
This is a time where the students will make today special for the children.
- Dinner at the hotel.

Day 5 - The Plain of jars & CAS project

- Visit one of the highlights of Laos: the Plain of Jars. This complex is composed by a large group of historic cultural sites containing thousands of stone jars, which lie scattered throughout the Xieng Khouang plain. The legends claim that there was a race of giants who once inhabited the area.
- We will return to Phonsavan to continue with your work at the orphanage.
- Dinner and overnight in Phonsavan.

Day 6 - CAS project & Departure

- Check-out of your hotel after breakfast.
- Visit the orphanage for a farewell ceremony and exchange of gifts.
- Transfer back to Luang Prabang in order to connect for your flight home.
The program will vary depending on departure time.
