Tanzania is home to the continent’s finest national parks, fascinating cultures, preserved wildlife, friendly people, idyllic tropical beaches, sweeping savannahs, the snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro; Tanzania has everything wrapped up in one adventurous package!

Day 1 - Arrival

- Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to our hotel for a nice relaxing evening and meal at a local restaurant.

Day 2 - Lake Manyara National Park & CAS

- Head off in our safari vehicles to Lake Manyara National Park for some game viewing.
- After lunch you will drive to Mto was Mbu for your CAS project. This village has a number of small schools where you will help paint some of the classrooms and interact with the local school children.
- Dinner and camp at the Jambo campsite in Manyara.

Day 3 - Gibbs farm & Ngorongoro Crater

- We will head to Ngorongoro Crater. En-route we will visit a working farm and hotel in the hills of this area – Gibbs Farm.
- We will drive further to Ngorongoro where we will set up our tent camp and have our evening meal, cooked by our chef.

Day 4 - Ngorongoro Crater

- Full day game drive in the crater where you will hopefully see many animals: lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo, zebra, leopard, hyena and many more.
- Picnic in the crater and return to the camp site for dinner.

Day 5 - Cradle of mankind & Maasai Village

- Transfer to Olduvai Gorge, the Cradle of Mankind.
- Explore the museum and hear about how important remains of ancestral man have been discovered in this region.
- After lunch we will continue to Arusha via a Maasai village.

Day 6 - Kilimanjaro National Park

- Travel to Kilimanjaro National Park. The climb begins with a trek through the rainforest until you reach the first hut.
- Meal and overnight at Mandara Hut (5 hrs / 2,725m).

Day 7 and 8 - Horombo hut

- Ascend through alpine meadows. Due to the gradual change of altitude the overall pace slows but this allows us to enjoy the flora and the view of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks.
- Meal and overnight at Horombo Hut (5 hrs / 3,780m).
- In order to acclimatize to the altitude, we will spend the second day in the vicinity of Horombo Hut and take a short local trek before our meal and overnight on the site.

Day 9 - Kibo hut

- Leave the meadows behind and ascend through the stony, arid and desert-like environment towards Kibo Peak.
- Overnight at Kibo Hut. (5-6 hours / 4,730m).

Day 10 - Gilman's point & UHuru peak

- Start the final ascent by 1:00 a.m. in order to see the sun rise over Africa. This is the hardest part: the trek up to Gilman’s Point at 5,681m.
- Walk to the highest point in Africa - Uhuru Peak at 5,895m. Enjoy this unique moment on the top of Africa before starting the descent back to Horombo Hut for overnight.

Day 11 - Descent to Marangu gate

- Descend to Marangu Gate, where we started our adventure.
- Transfer to Arusha and check in at your hotel.
- Congratulations, prize giving and dinner.

Day 12 - Departure

- Transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight back home.
